And before that I worked for the Soviet government for Mr. Gorbachev. I was one of 6 00:00:52.520 --> 00:00:59.040 economic advisors. I wasn't the advisor. I wouldn't take the blame. Mencken. 13 00:01:38.540 --> 00:01:46.540 Mencken, in his diary, on April 13th, 1945, the day after the death of Franklin Delano Roosevelt, 14 00:01:46.540 --> 00:01:54.540 he said, It seems to me to be very likely that Roosevelt will take a high place in American popular history, 15 00:01:54.540 --> 00:01:58.540 maybe even alongside Washington and Lincoln. 16 00:01:58.540 --> 00:02:02.540 He had every quality that mourns his team in their heroes. 17 00:02:02.540 --> 00:02:08.540 And that's right. He took this place. 18 00:02:08.540 --> 00:02:17.540 Franklin Delano Roosevelt, who inflicted a lot of pain and suffering on this country, the countries of Eastern Europe, 19 00:02:17.540 --> 00:02:27.540 my own country, Russia, is considered to be a hero by the left liberals, by communist party hacks alike. 20 00:02:27.540 --> 00:02:36.540 He was praised by Stalin. He was praised by Khrushchev. He was praised by Brezhnev. He was praised by Newt Gingrich and Trent Lott. 21 00:02:36.540 --> 00:02:52.540 The absurdity of this praise, going to the 32nd President of the United States, is obvious after 12 years of his governing, 22 00:02:52.540 --> 00:03:00.540 where he practically, to my mind, he undermined the Constitution of the United States. 23 00:03:00.540 --> 00:03:05.540 He violated the oath he took as the President of the United States. 24 00:03:05.540 --> 00:03:15.540 And today, the techniques of manipulation of public thinking, of public opinion, 25 00:03:15.540 --> 00:03:19.540 being honed to a very high art in the United States and elsewhere, 26 00:03:19.540 --> 00:03:28.540 There is my favorite quip from Churchill. He said once that the Soviet Union is the only country in the world with unpredictable past. 27 00:03:28.540 --> 00:03:43.540 I would think that Churchill was wrong as usual. He was wrong as usual because the United States became the country already with unpredictable past. 28 00:03:43.540 --> 00:03:55.540 That we can see that liberal and socialist historians, outrightly socialist historians, are rewriting American history the same way Soviet historians are rewriting Soviet history. 29 00:03:55.540 --> 00:04:12.540 In a lot of cases, American historians, especially ago, Clinton announced that the whole world needs a new New Deal. 43 00:05:51.540 --> 00:05:59.540 Like Stalin, like other talents, Roosevelt heavily relied on fabricated by intellectual elite's
